Aberdeen airport serves Scotland’s North Sea oil and gas industry and the domestic traffic of much of central and Northern Scotland. Aberdeen airport has recently undergone a number of long overdue changes and developments. The security search area has been moved and up-graded, creating more space for passengers, and a new duty free shop serving International and domestic passengers has been built. Toilet facilities have been upgraded and smoking and non-smoking areas have been improved. A new retail development is currently underway.
Airport Location
The airport is about 7 miles to the Northwest of Aberdeen. The airport is reached via the access road, which is signposted from the A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road. The airport is on the A947 at the small town of Dyce. Helicopter passengers using British International Helicopters and Bristow’s should travel to the airport via the A96 following the signposts for each of the terminals. Long-term car park for helicopter passengers is available opposite the Bristow’s Helicopters terminal. Bond Helicopters passengers should use the East terminal, and road access is via the A947 from Bucksburn. View Aberdeen Airport Map
Car Parks at Aberdeen Airport
Aberdeen Airport has long and short term parking facilities, the short-term car park is directly in front of the terminal building and the long-term car park is off Forties Road and serviced by a courtesy bus to and from the terminal. The official opening hours for Aberdeen Airport are 05:00 to 22:30, although the terminal is generally kept open to receive late inbound flights.
