Glasgow Airport is not directly served by rail. The nearest railway station is Gilmour Street in nearby Paisley, about two miles away. Buses and taxis operate from the station direct to the airport. Gilmour Street station has services to and from Glasgow Central, Ayr and Clyde Coast stations. During weekdays and Saturdays train run every few minutes to Glasgow Central and at about 15 minute intervals on Sundays. A ramp for wheelchair access to the platforms can be made available on request.
Bus and Coach Services at Glasgow International Airport
All public service buses depart from covered stands in the front of the main terminal building. Buses numbered 905 operated jointly by Citylink and Fairline run frequently to Glasgow city centre and have drop off points across the city centre including Glasgow Central and Queen Street Railway Stations and Buchanan bus and coach station. The current charge is £3.30 single and £5.00 return. Strathclyde Passenger Transport has an information office on the ground floor in UK arrivals. Raised walkways are positioned at regular intervals along the forecourt. Scottish Citylink operate a number of liquid petroleum gas buses on the Glasgow City Centre route, and these buses are fully accessible. Enclosed bus shelters with seating are provided at bus stops. Bus Stop Bays 1 and 2: 905 - Citylink and Fairline combined service operating to and from Glasgow City Centre (with connecting services to Edinburgh) - Citylink operate uses on this route that are fully accessible. Bus Stop Bay 3: Rail link buses to Paisley Gilmour Street Station - for trains to Glasgow Central, Gourock, Irvine, Ayr and Largs. 60/300 - Paisley and Foxbar Bus Stop Bay 4: 901 - Port Glasgow, Greenock and Gourock; 915 - Dumbarton, Fort William, Kyle of Lochalsh and Portree; 906 - Port Glasgow, Greenock, Wemyss Bay, Largs. Taxis from Glasgow International Airport
Taxis operate to and from Glasgow Airport 24 hours a day and will travel to most destinations. The current taxi fare from the airport to Glasgow city centre is now close to £20. Taxi drivers must hold a Glasgow Airport permit and are legally obliged to publish their charges and run the taxis meter for the full length of each journey. For long distance journeys agree the price with the driver before setting off. The taxi rank is located in front of the terminal and is well signposted. A proportionate number of fully accessible taxis are available to wheelchair users from Glasgow Airport. On arrival please contact the Cabfly warden, on the number above, controlling the taxi rank at the domestic arrivals end of the terminal, who will ensure that you get a suitable taxi.
