Southampton Airport

A comprehensive guide to Southampton (SOU) Airport

A rapidly growing airport serving the relatively affluent south coast and central southern area of England. A new terminal opened in late 1994 has changed the airports fortunes from one of a predominantly private airport to one that now attracts in excess of one and a half million passengers per year and rising. Air France. British Airways, Air Berlin and Flybe are amongst the growing number of airlines using Southampton Airport. The airport serves more than 30 destinations directly and over 400 destinations worldwide via a single hub connection.

Access to Southampton Airport is a key factor in the airports continuing growth, with good road connections from most of southern England. The airport also has an integrated rail connection at the Southampton Airport Parkway Railway Station. Three trains an hour during peak times operate from here to London Waterloo, the journey taking a little over an hour. Train services also link the airport to Poole Bournemouth and Weymouth.

Southampton has its own dedicated railway station: Southampton Airport Parkway Rail Station. Fast trains run three times an hour operate between London Waterloo and the Airport. There are also excellent connections with numerous cities in the south (for example, Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth).
