Cowes Travel Guide

Situated on the Isle of Wight at the mouth of the Solent, one of Britain’s busiest waterways, Cowes is made up of two towns staring across at each other over the River Medina, and linked by a “Floating Bridge”.
Unsurprisingly much of the town’s shopping and commerce is maritime biased, with plenty of boatyards, chandlers and trendy boutiques selling seafaring apparel.
After a busy day messing about in boats Cowes has more than enough eating and drinking hostelries to challenge the thirst and appetite of the most voracious seadog. No one need go hungry in Cowes, the choice of cuisines available is enormous, from Fish and Chips to French and several restaurants specialising in locally landed seafood. There are plenty of pubs and bars many with great views across the Solent.
