The city has some fine green areas too including England’s first public park, the Derby Arboretum and Alvaston Park. Theatre lovers are also well catered for at the Derby Playhouse, Assembly Rooms and beautifully ornate Guildhall Theatre. Derby’s pub scene is almost legendary with hostelries on virtually every corner and the choice of restaurants and cafes serving mouth-watering delicacies is phenomenal. A great place to visit and a jumping off location for rural midlands Derby always has a few surprises up its sleeve.
