Port Douglas Travel Guide

With cute village shops, seaside markets, historic buildings and a rainforest wildlife centre there’s lots to do besides basking on the stunning Four Mile Beach. The natural harbour here is home to a lively marina where you can relax over a refreshing cocktail or dine at one of the fabulous boardwalk restaurants.
It’s one of the closest resorts to the Great Barrier Reef and trips are run from here at regular intervals throughout the day.
Port Douglas is also within easy reach of the breathtaking World Heritage rainforests of Daintree and the magnificent Cape Tribulation area, where some of the oldest trees and rarest plant and animal species in the world exist.
Port, as the locals call it, has experienced a large amount of tourism development over recent years, but has managed to retain a lot of its original features and is as charming and appealing as ever.
