You can also enjoy boat rides on the canal and exhibitions of clog making and textiles. Where once stood imposing slag heaps, regeneration money has led to the creation of lovely areas of landscaping and greenery. Another exciting historic attraction is the Trenchfield Mill, which houses the world’s largest working steam mill engine. One of the oldest buildings in the town is the 13^th century All Saints Parish Church, which houses the tomb of Sir William Bradshaw. With over 2000 years of history Wigan is a fascinating place to visit and the recent rejuvenation has turned the town into a major shopping centre as well as a great place for a good old-fashioned night on the tiles with plenty of pubs and clubs.
