There are three very old Christian sites situated around Alaverdi, a copper mining town in the Debed Valley, north east area of Armenia. One of these sites is the 10th to 13th century, Sanain Monastery, with the Amenaprkich Church a bit further southwest. Just west of Sanain, is the 6th century Odzun Church and its medieval cemeteries and east of Alaverdi, visitors will find the Akhpat Monastery, built around the 10th and 13th centuries.
