A year round holiday destination the Tyrol is, by far, Austria’s most spectacular attraction. The Tyrol has 710 peaks of over 9800ft and also includes both the tallest mountain in the province, the Wildspitze (10,980ft) and parts of Austria’s highest mountain the 12,460 Grossglockner that it shares with Carinthia. The spectacular winters offer a full range of excellent skiing opportunities with 176 ski schools operating. Skiing is still available in summer but other activities also come to the fore during the season – walking, biking, climbing, horseback riding, fishing and even golf.
