There are many old temples to be discovered in Bahrain, one of which is the Barbar Temple, which is actually the remains of 3 different temples built on top of each other! The oldest of the three temples was created in 3000 BC; so its quite amazing that there’s any remains left. The Barbar Temple was dedicated to Enki, god of freshwater, which is quite appropriate seeing that the temple was built on a fresh water spring, the holiest place of the temple, and visitors can see this area from a succession of walkways.
