Mainimati was once a place used by Buddhists from the 7th to 12th century, the buildings here have now been unearthed, with over fifty Buddhist sites scattered about the area. Close by is a museum, which contains excavated Buddhist treasures, including bronze statues, coins, terracotta plaques and votive stupas that have been embossed with Buddhist inscriptions.
