With its 50-mile stretch, Sundarbans National Park is the biggest coastal mangrove strip in the world. Since the 1960’s, the area has been a wildlife sanctuary and today there are around 400 Royal Bengal tigers and about 30,000 spotted deer within the park. Visitors will need a permit to enter Sundarbans and are attainable from the Divisional Forest Office in Khulna. There is also the need to rent a boat from Dhangmari or Mongla, to reach the starting point at Hiron Point, from where visitors will need to hire a park guide to be shown around this fascinating place.
