Like Rugby is to Wales, baseball is to America and soccer is to Brazil, cricket is virtually a religion to The West Indies and its home is The Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. However, unlike other national sports, in Barbados Cricket is played practically all year round but the highlights of every year are the international test matches. What better way to relax and enjoy the gentle sound of leather on willow than sitting in the warm Caribbean sun, sipping cold beer in a ground where true legends of Cricket were born – Sir Frank Worrell, Everton Weekes, Sir Clyde Walcott and the greatest all-rounder of all time Sir Garfield Sobers. The best views are from the 3Ws stand named after Worrell, Weekes and Walcott but wherever you sit the atmosphere is electric (well for cricket anyway). But those visiting with opposing teams should not be too optimistic, the West Indies have only ever lost one test match here.
