With some great urban and rural beaches, it’s hard to choose which in Benin, to head off to! Amongst the most beautiful is an urban beach 2.5 miles from Cotonou, which is clean, safe for children to swim in but due to its popularity can get overcrowded. Another really good beach for visitors to relax at, is one at Ouidah, where the sand is white and powdery, the water is clear and blue and safe for swimming, and the area is usually much less crowded.
