Bolivia - Down the Tuichi River in a dug-out

Bolivia sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

The powerful and awe-inspiring rapids that crash through Bolivia’s wildest terrain echo with the stories of brave adventurers and jungle exploits which give the Tuichi River one of the toughest reputations in the country. A trip down this spectacular wild free-flowing river is an experience you’ll find hard to match. An expedition down the river will take around 3-6 days visiting numerous camps along the way nestled in amongst the dense jungle which heaves with some of Bolivia’s most fascinating animals and birds. In between braving the rapids, there is more than enough time for some rainforest relaxation, swimming and hiking before getting back to what can only be described as the premier white water, if not white-knuckle adventure in Bolivia.
