This royal facility, which overlooks the river at the centre of Phnom Penh, had most of its buildings reconstructed in the 20th century but the designs used were inspired by customary Khmer architecture. The main buildings within the palace include the Silver Pagoda and the Throne Hall but as yet the public have only been able to visit the Silver Pagoda and its surrounding grounds. Anyone wanting to send a greeting to the King, after visiting the Royal Palace, can post their letters in a special letterbox found on the south side of the palace.
