Situated in the heart of the City, Plaza de Bolivar is flanked by buildings from several eras, many of which are historically or politically significant. They include the Cathedral, Cardinal’s Palace, Town Hall and the Capitolium, behind which stands the Presidential Palace. Along the steep, narrow streets that head east from the Plaza towards the mountains you’ll find many splendid colonial buildings built in traditional style with huge doorways, wonderful streetlamps and flower filled balconies.
