Copenhagen has so many world-class museums that you’re spoilt for choice and a must-see is the Nationalmuseet. Over 10,000 years of history can be discovered here in Denmark’s largest collection of artefacts and archaeological finds from all around the world. Permanent exhibitions including Denmark’s prehistory and middle ages are interesting with fascinating displays including the Sun Chariot, which is over 3500 years old.
Also worth a visit is the Ny Carlsberg Glypotek. Built in the 19th Century by beer magnate Carl Jacobsen, it’s a stunning building with an amazing glass dome conservatory as its centrepiece. The main displays are mainly of Egyptian, Greek and Roman art and sculpture and paintings by Monet, Renoir and Gauguin.
