Copenhagen - Nyhavn Canal’s al fresco cafes

Hundreds of chairs are set up along the front of the cafes and restaurants in this pretty area of old houses and buildings by the waterfront. During the summer months 1000’s of people gather around this area of Copenhagen to watch the old sailing ships pass by whilst they dine at the fabulous cafes or just chill out in the sun with an ice cold Carlsberg. You get a real sense of Copenhagen’s historical links with the sea here, the harbour is old and the canals date back to the 1670’s. Canal Tour boats run from the Nytorv end of the harbour from April to September.
