Situated near Portsmouth, Cabrits National Park is most popular for its building, Fort Shirley, a huge 18th century British barracks, which at one time was home to 600 soldiers. There has been some reconstruction of the fort's stone ruins; whilst the rest of the fort is semi-visible deep within the parks’ jungle. From Cabrits National Park, at the ruins of the Officers’ Quarters, visitors will have excellent views of the nearby Prince Rupert Bay.
