A great area for swimming in Dominica is at the Layou River, the longest river in the country. Walking to the river basin, travellers will find a very tranquil place, which is perfect for swimming, when the current is weak, and with its bamboo edging the river bank and coconut trees lining the roads, its an area that really sets the scene. For snorkelling, visitors need to head to Castaways Beach, where near the beaches rock formations, there are some amazing fish to be seen including stingrays and octopus.
