Dominican Republic - North Coast Beaches

Dominican Republic sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

The north coast of the Dominican Republic or ‘Amber Coast’ is virtually one continuous stretch of wonderful white sand beach. To the west are Playa Dorado, Playa Long Beach, Playa Costamar and Playa Confreshi. Around Puerto Playa you’ll find some of the very best windsurfing and water-skiing and most of the beaches are in their natural state. To the east is the famous Boca Chica a Mecca for sun-seekers the world over who flock there for the fine pale sand, safe shallow waters and fascinating coral reefs. Almost as popular are Juan Dolio and Guayacanes where the water is deeper and beaches similarly idyllic.
