Housed in a museum just south of the Pyramid of Cheops, the Solar Boat of Khufu is nothing short of amazing. Built to transport the titular King through the afterlife and constructed almost entirely of cedar wood this magnificent example of nautical engineering is a 43.5 meters in length and stands 5m and 7m at the bows and stern respectively. The boat is in remarkably good condition and still includes ropes, oars and sitting kiosk. Open daily from 9am – 4pm.
