Situated in northern Tallinn close to the sea Kadriorg Park was founded by Russian Tsar Peter I and designed by Roman architect Niccolo Michetti who gave the buildings there distinctly Italian look and particular the spectacular Palace. The park was named after the beloved empress Catherine I and the translation means literally Catherine’s Valley. The park covers around 100 hectares and contains several delightful gardens and some superbly renovated 18th Italian-French style buildings
