Covering a quarter of the land within the Faeroes, Kirkjubøur, contains nearly half of the islands’ inhabitants. Now a place full of interesting ruins, with the most fascination one being that of the 13th century, Magnus Cathedral, which never got fully built due to an avalanche in 1772. Another interesting building is that of St Olav's Church, built in 1111, and was once a religious centre, another is St Brendan's Church, now a small mound of stones and a crumbled wall. There are many other ruins in the area and visitors could spend a whole day looking around the area.
