The tiny village of Saksun, located on Streymoy island, attracts many tourists due to its fascinating surroundings. Sat on a hillside, the village is scattered with farmhouses and is split in two by the River Dalsá. At the bottom of Saksun is a beautiful, circular pond and just above the village, visitors will find a very good walking trail, which has an interesting 19th century farmhouse Dúvuvarður and folk museum from the 1800s.
