This little island is less than a mile wide, but even so, it attracts a mass of wildlife. Situated off East Falkland's southern coast, Sea Lion Island’s inhabitants include cormorants, penguins, petrels, elephant seals, who cover the sandier beaches and sea lions, who scatter themselves about the gravel-type beaches. The area is also shared with sheep, as Sea Lion Island is the only working Falkland farm that can provide natural tussock grass. Getting to the island is very easy, with transportation available from the nearby areas of Mount Pleasant and Stanley.
