Mattise lived in Nice from 1917 until his death in 1954 and is also well represented by his namesake Museum, which houses his own personal collection. Divided into eighteen rooms on two floors the collection is a celebration of the artist’s life and work and includes oil paintings, drawings, engravings, illustrated books, photographs plus objects used by Matisse's for inspiration.

Daily except Tuesdays and certain public holidays
1 October - 31st March: 10.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.
1 April - 30 September: 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.
Admission:
25 F or 15 F reduced rate.
Free admission: children under 18, civilian handicapped or war wounded, members of ICOM and ICOMOS, scientific museum staff, and journalists (proof of status required).
