The Mediterranean Coast of France is almost synonymous with luxury and glamour – Cannes with its film festival and hoards of movie stars and Monaco with it’s Grand Prix just scratches the surface. St Tropez is a major tourist magnet. Known as the village of the stars and artists, the pace of life allows visitors to unwind and feel like vacationing Valentinos themselves. Those who can afford it hire, or even buy a yacht. Those who can’t flock to the beaches, which surprisingly are not all over-crowded. Alternatively, head for Nice on the sundrenched Côte D’Azur. There is much to do whether budgeting or not. Nice is great place to walk and has an impressive 300 hectares of green space. There is skiing, trekking or rock climbing on the Alps. In warmer months, there is windsurfing, paragliding, scuba diving, and perhaps the most exhausting activity of all, sunbathing – which, wherever you are doesn’t cost a penny.
