Germany - Neuschwanstien Castle

Sitting across the mountain from his mother’s castle (the grandest granny flat you’ll ever see), is King Ludwig II’s Neuschwanstien Castle, a stunning piece of architecture built by the fairy tale king himself in the Bavarian Alps near New Swan Lake. Unfortunately, the construction of the castle wasn’t finished before he mysteriously died and before his thrown was placed in residence. Now, the immense, almost theatrical looking castle is Bavaria’s biggest money-spinner and a grand posthumous tribute to this famous and eccentric king. Neuschwanstien Castle looks like a Disney creation, it is one of King Ludwig's II most extraordinary and elaborate fantasies and is a real must see for the romantically curious.
