Legend has it that Rum Point on the northern tip of Grand Cayman, got its name from barrels of rum, once washed ashore after a shipwreck, but whatever the reason, the island, stretching west and south for seven miles, is a beautiful, tranquil place with white sandy beaches, surrounded by towering Casuarina trees. With the regions many reefs, lagoons catering for snorkelling and swimming, mangroves, cays, shallows and hammocks hanging from trees, Rum Point is absolute paradise, allowing visitors to lie back and enjoy the areas slow pace of life!
