Greece - Delphi and the Oracle

Shrouded in myth and legend, mysterious Delphi lies on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in Greece. Once a place of worship for legendary characters such as Apollo and Dionysos, the site is still a fascinating place to visit, crammed with ancient ritual. Comprising the Sanctuary of Apollo, the King of Argos Monument, the Sanctuary of Athena and the spectacular ‘tholos’, Delphi has enough incredible remains to sink a ship. There is even the Castalian Spring where pilgrims would cleanse themselves before consulting the Oracle. Delphi retains an enigmatic ambience second to none and anyone, not least of all the avid mythology fan will be captivated by it.
