Situated just over 30miles from the city of Rhodes, Embonas is a traditional village with a lively, friendly atmosphere and a thriving tourist trade. Built on the foothills of Ataviros most of the villagers work in oil or wine production and there are numerous wine cellars in the area. Probably the most famous is the Emery wine plant, which runs tours of the production areas and has frequent and very popular tastings, usually in the morning.
