Thassos - Golden Beach

The claim that Golden Beach is the best on the island is not strictly true. Sure it is the biggest but it also the most crowded. There are a few tavernas serving decent food and if its pretty good for water sports. Younger visitors will enjoy the atmosphere and the body language but bona fide beach bums are better keeping going through the throngs around the coast, here the beach becomes progressively more pebbly but persevere and you’re in for a treat. Just beyond the pebbles is a stretch of fine pale sand lapped by shallow blue water with several excellent tavernas and a wonderful away from it all atmosphere.
