A popular museum, located at the bottom of a hill at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and the best in the country. The Ixchel Museum’s main focus is on textiles of the Guatemala's indigenous community and has an immense amount of hand-woven materials, dating as far back as the 19th century, with other displays including photographs, art and sculptures. There are also interactive weaving shows, which help keep the younger children interested and an eatery, to re-energise the visitors, for that uphill walk back to the car!
