Shrouded in amongst the lush tropical gardens of eastern Bali, lies Sanur, the island's first ever beach resort. The pale yellow sand beach is met by a clear blue lagoon famed for being extremely safe as well as exquisitely beautiful. Protected by an extensive coral reef the lagoon waters can be enjoyed in safety all year round. By the same token, Sanur is a mecca for water sports enthusiasts with swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, outrigger sailing and windsurfing on offer. Sanur is undoubtedly one of Bali's best alternative locations, and as the island's witchcraft capital, housing the sacred temple of spirit queen Ratu Aya of Singgi, I'm not going to argue.
