Rome - The Trevi Fountain

Rome sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

Nobody goes to Rome without visiting the Trevi Fountain, the largest and most flamboyant fountain in Rome designed by Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762. Tradition dictates that throwing a coin into the fountain ensures your return to Rome. This certainly beats, the original tradition of having to drink the fountain water, not something you’d particularly want to be doing these days. The Fountain is usually thronging with friendly hoards and has a party like atmosphere especially at night when stunningly lit from all angles.
