Cancun - Xel-Ha Ecological Park

Billed as the world’s only outdoor aquarium, the 20-acre Xel-Ha Ecological Park lies 70 miles south of Cancun. This stunning lagoon measuring around one and a half square kilometres allows visitors to swim amongst some of the most spectacular marine wildlife on earth. The labyrinth of waterways is home to parrot fish, skates, stingrays and eels to name only a select few. The park has also recently introduced an interactive swimming program with the dolphins that share these amazing waters. On dry land, there are paths leading into the tropical jungle brimming with wildlife such as butterflies, iguanas, macaws and a colourful array of tropical birds. There are even two Cenotes (sink holes), and an ancient Mayan wall to boot. The park at Xel-Ha makes for a fantastic day out in an ecological paradise.
