Once a royal residence, Akershus Slott in Oslo is found within the centre of the Akershus fortress. Visitors can roam around its halls and get the atmosphere of what it was once like to live there. There has been some renovation since its first creation and is actively used today for official gatherings with the royal mausoleum containing the burial places of King Olav V and King Haakon VII together with Queen Märtha and Queen Maud.
