Norway - Maihaugen Open Air Museum

This is one big museum and contains over 150 genuine buildings that have originated from parts of the Gudbrandsdal Valley. The place is all about Norway's history and is shown in a picture-form way, all the way through the museum’s green open area. Visitors will find a lot of walking needs to be done to get around the whole of the museums’ buildings, all of which are sorted by collections, a rural collection, a 1900's buildings collection and a Town collection. Visitors will be able to enter most of the buildings and if not will be able to look inside through partial openings. Taking a guided tour is the best and most informed way around the museum, with many questions being answered en route!
