The main border crossing to Iguacu Falls, this city, on the banks of the Parana River, is also the place to get trips to Itaipu Dam. The Friendship Bridge also resides here and stretches across the Parana River, linking Paraguay to Brazil. Visitors wanting to go over the bridge by foot will see an amazing view of Cuidad del Este. Shopping here is on the cheap side and available in abundance, thanks to electronic merchandise, cars and alcohol, being imported or smuggled into the country!
