Once filled with uncultivated pampas grass, Ortigas is now in abundance with high-rise structures, shopping malls, amusement centres and eateries, especially at St. Francis Square, and is one of Manila's, the country’s capital, main commercial and business centres. The area is also where the Asian Development Bank, headquarters of San Miguel Corporation and the Philippine Stock Exchange Center reside.
