Algarve - Jeep Safaris and Deep Sea Fishing

There are a number of jeep safaris on offer to those wanting to take a one-day tour of the foothills and the surrounding area. Take in the fields and groves of fruit trees overflowing with olives, oranges, quinces, almonds and pomegranates, not to mention the wild herbs growing beside the tracks such as thyme, rosemary and aniseed. Some safaris take the visitor through little villages selling local produce and beautifully made traditional handicrafts whilst some visit the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina and remote west coast beaches. The trick is to shop around and choose exactly where you want to go. Another activity on offer at most resorts on the Algarve is deep-sea fishing. Observe how the fishermen work, help them with the catch of the day and simply enjoy sailing the seas under the blazing Portuguese sun.
