Moscow - Lenin’s Tomb
Moscow sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide
Organizer of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and founder of the Soviet state, Lenin was an integral part in the development of Russia and consequently crowds flock to visit his tomb. Lenin’s body is housed within a granite tomb which people can enter (hats respectfully removed) in order to view the Communist leader’s embalmed body where he has lain in a 3-sided glass case since his death in 1924. There are also many other leading lights of Russia’s history such as Stalin and Leonid Brezhnev in a plot beneath the Kremlin wall that the visitor can enter upon leaving Lenin’s tomb. You cannot leave Moscow without tipping your hat to some of Russia’s greats.
