Opened in 1912, the Pushkin Fine Arts Museum is a definite must-see for it’s stunning collections including one of the best ranges of Impressionist and postimpressionist paintings in the world. Indeed, it’s impressive collections of European art are second in Russia to only St. Petersburg's Hermitage. The Pushkin Fine Arts Museum boasts Manet’s Dejeuner sur l'herbe, Renoir's Bathing in the Seine plus a healthy number of works by Van Gogh and Matisse, plus an entire gallery of Gauguins. With ancient and medieval art, sculpture, graphic arts and even Heinrich’s Schliemann’s glittering hoard of gold from ‘Troy’, the Pushkin is a world premier art museum. It is open every day from 10am-7pm except for Mondays and there is a minimal entry fee of $5/£3.50.
