A small island, which visitors can walk around quite independently. An interesting feature to the island is the Maison des Esclavaes, meaning house of the slaves, here visitors can see for themselves what the slaves, in times gone by, went through before voyaging across the Atlantic. The majestic buildings situated on the island are beautiful in design, with the island’s museum being another fascinating area to browse round, if time permits. Visitors can get to Ile de Goree by ferry, with the best time to visit being during the Spring or Summer.
