Canary Islands - A Drive along the Scenic Route from Agaete to Aldea de San Nicolas

Canary Islands sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

The west coast of Gran Canaria is the least heavily populated and most spacious part of the island and travelling southwards from Agaete on the Northwest corniche provides the traveller with some spectacular scenery. The coastline is fringed with both natural and man-made coves, beaches such as Pata-lavaca, La Verga and Puerto Rico providing water sports galore plus a generous peppering of outdoor cafés and restaurants at Puerto de Mogán to kick back and re-fuel along the way. Along the route, there are the awe-inspiring scenic views across the valleys of Veneguera, El Perchel rising up to the last magnificent saddle before descending to the main township of la Aldea de San Nicolás where the wide valley meets the sea. The route is spectacular and breathtaking – take it easy whilst taking the scenery in.
