Similar to most Spanish coastal towns, Tamariu Beach was once a quiet fishing village. Today it is a popular beach destination that has remarkably managed to keep its quaint appeal. Set against steep cliffs and pine covered mountains with some of the most pristine waters in the Med lapping against the uncrowded white sands, Tamariu is the perfect alternative to some of the concrete jungles found elsewhere on the costa. If crashing on the beach is not your cup of tea then there are plenty of activities to keep you busy including windsurfing, golf and shopping at the Palafrugell Market. Another authentic peak into the Catalan way is to observe a local fish auction; it is probably where your evening meal will come from.
