Madrid - The Goya Chapel

Madrid sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

Francisco Goya, producer of some of the best known Spanish oil-paintings once called Madrid home. Today a chapel that doubles as his burial site is a truly magnificent place where stunning frescoes loom over his tomb. Most of the works inside the Goya Chapel depict everyday life in Madrid, making it a tribute to the life and times of the artist. To avoid disappointment make sure you don’t get it mixed up with it’s twin. An identical chapel was built to hold services and to preserve the original works.
