Geneva - Views from the Jura Mountains

The Jura Mountains, running parallel to the Franco-Swiss border are probably the best place to go for a really clear view of the city of Geneva and its lake. Hiking up into the hills is an experience in itself, with a healthy smattering of small lakes, gorges, caves and waterfalls to make the trek just that little bit more scenic and interesting. Upon reaching the top of the hills, all the sweat and toil of getting there will be justly rewarded with stunning views of the whole area. Beautiful Geneva in its entirety sprawls below on the edge of tranquil Lake Geneva and a squint into the distance will even locate the Jet d’eau. On a clear day you can even discern the imposing Mont Blanc looming in the snow-capped distance. Not for the unfit, but the views are definitely worth their weight in sweat.
